Rehabilitation for Multiple Sclerosis Management

Updated: Apr 29

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease that triggers the immune system to attack the central nervous system, which includes the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. Everyone’s experience with MS is different, and symptoms can include numbness, tingling, mood changes, memory problems, pain, fatigue, blindness and paralysis. Symptoms can be temporary or long-lasting, and symptoms typically progress over time.

According to the National MS Society, nearly one million Americans are living with multiple sclerosis.1 The majority of people who get MS are female, and most people are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50.2

Although there is no cure for MS, medical rehabilitation can help people improve or maintain function, prevent complications and enhance their quality of life. At Cincinnati Rehabilitation Hospital, our dedicated team of physical, speech and occupational therapists can help with physical function, activities of daily living and communication. • Physical Therapy – The goal of PT is to promote independence and safety while maintaining function. It will have an emphasis on walking and mobility, strength, balance, posture, fatigue and pain.

  • Occupational Therapy – OTs train patients in energy conservation techniques and the use of adaptive tools to simplify everyday tasks.

  • Speech Therapy – SLPs help treat problems with speech or swallowing, which can result from damage to the nervous system.

My primary care provider introduced me to MS-4 programme from naturalherbscentre. com and i immediately started on their Multiple Sclerosis treatment, this MS-4 treatment has made a tremendous difference for me. My symptoms including shaking, muscle weakness, fatigue, mood swings, numbness, double vision and urinary retention all disappeared after the 4 months treatment!
